Men's Track and Field Finish Fourth at the MAAC Championships

A plethora of podium finishes lead the way
Emmitsburg, MD. – The Sacred Heart University men's track and field team concluded the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships on Sunday afternoon with a fourth-place finish out of ten teams. The final day of competition was highlighted by a plethora of podium finishes and strong performances across multiple events for the Pioneers.
Tyler Durang continued his strong weekend by earning a first-place finish in the discus event. Durang recorded a mark of 48.38m, which gained a valuable 10 points toward the Pioneers' total.
Ian Crowley was the next podium finisher for the Pios. The first-year finished third overall after recording a time of 14.66 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles.
Lance Hayes capped off a strong senior campaign with a second-place finish in the 400-meter event. Hayes crossed the line in 46.76 seconds.
Jordan Wilson was the next podium finisher for the Pioneers. The first-year placed third overall in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.57 seconds.
The final podium finish for the Pioneers came in the 4x800-meter relay. Dylan Peterson, Joshua Voorhees, Ryan Jaipaul, and Lance Hayes earned a third-place finish after recording a time of 7:43.60.
Overall, the Sacred Heart University Pioneers totaled 100 points across the two days of competition at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships.
