Track and Field Compete at the MIT Final Qualifier

A program record leads the way
Cambridge, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University men's and women's track and field teams were represented at the MIT Final Qualifier on Thursday afternoon, with five different Pioneers competing across multiple events.
It was Nyahingiva Musa who got the party started for the Pios. She earned an event victory in the 100-meter dash after recording a time of 11.81 seconds. Musa followed that up with a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 24.86 seconds.
Magdalena Brogioli competed in the high jump event, where she finished second overall out of 12 participants after clearing a height of 1.66 meters.
Georgia Robarts was the next Pioneer to compete. She took part in the triple jump event and finished eighth overall with a mark of 10.88 meters.
Samuel Madden represented the Pios in the high jump event. Madden tied another participant for fifth place after recording a height of 1.92 meters.
Tyler Durang rounded out the day for the Pioneers and continued his impressive season. Durang broke the program record in the hammer throw after recording a mark of 59.94 meters, earning a second-place finish in the event.
