Men's Track and Field Turn in a Good Day One Performance at the New England Intercollegiate Indoor Track & Field Championships

Amore leads the way

Boston, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University men's track and field team delivered a strong performance on day one of the New England Intercollegiate Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Pioneers sit in third place after the opening day, totaling 24 points across five events.

Francisco Amore got the day started for the Pioneers, claiming an event win in the pole vault after clearing a height of 4.67 meters. His first-place finish earned Sacred Heart ten valuable points.

Next up was the distance medley relay, where Michael Maresca, Brodie Proulx, Ryan Gaulrapp, and Michael Mason represented the Pioneers. The quartet delivered a strong performance, earning a first-place finish with a time of 10:25.33, which added ten more valuable points to Sacred Heart's total.

The Pioneers will be back in action for day two of the New England Intercollegiate Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, March 7. The meet is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
