Amore broke the pole vault school record

West Point, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University men's track and field team turned in a solid event. Graduate student Francisco Amore led the way, as he broke a school record in the pole vault event, on Saturday at the West Point Open.
Amore cleared a height of 4.6 meters to place second in the men's pole vault. The Pioneers' strongest event was the 1000 meters, where four Pios finished inside the top five. Lance Hayes led the group with a time of 2:36.09, followed closely by Ryan Ober at 2:36.64.
Sophomore Colin Brown turned in a strong performance in the men's 60 meters, finishing third with a time of 6.91 seconds.
Another strong event for the Pioneers was the men's 60-meter hurdles, with three Pios placing inside the top six. Enzo Warren led the group, finishing with a time of 8.58 seconds.

Up Next:
The Pioneers will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Boston, Mass., to compete in the Suffolk University Relays. The meeting is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
