BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y.— The game was tied at 29-all at halftime, but the Sacred Heart University women's basketball team came up short in the second half and fell, 63-37, at St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday.

Sacred Heart took a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter thanks to an 8-2 run at the 5:53 mark. After the lead changed three times in the second quarter, St. Francis Brooklyn went on a 10-0 run out of the media timeout to take a 29-24 lead, but Adrianne Hagood took matters into her own hands and scored five-straight in the final 30 seconds to knot the score at 29.
St. Francis Brooklyn went on a 15-0 run in the third to take the 44-31 lead. The Terriers outscored the Pioneers 34-8 in the second half, holding them to just 13.0% (3-23) in shooting.
Saint Francis Brooklyn shot 45.3% (24-53) compared to Sacred Heart's 28.6% (14-49) from the field. The Terriers led the Pioneers 34-18 in the paint and 14-2 on the fast break.
Sonia Smith led Sacred Heart with 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.
