Field Hockey Wins Second Straight

Get First NEC Victory on the Year

Box Score NORTH EASTON, Mass. — Sacred Heart field hockey tied their longest winning streak since the shortened Covid season with their second consecutive win today in a tight 4-2 victory on the road at Stonehill College.


Claire Skumurski broke the scoring open for the Pioneers with 4:34 left in the second quarter before Stonehill tied the game two minutes later. Skumurksi's goal was the second on the season. Aine Keaney found the net for her fifth time this season in what would be the game winning goal to give the Pioneers a 2-1 lead . Mira Poelzer extended the lead to two with a minute left in the third quarter with her second goal on the season. Mikayla VanHorn notched her first goal on the year late in the fourth quarter to double the lead and seal the victory on the afternoon.

The Pioneers move to 2-13 on the season on the way to getting their first NEC win on the year.
