PISCATAWAY, N.J.—Sacred Heart men's basketball suffered its first loss of the season 88-50 on the road at Rutgers on Thursday night at Jersey Mike's Arena. Graduate student Raheem Solomon led the Pioneers with 14 points as he and junior Nico Galette (10) scored in double figures for the Pioneers.

Of Note:
Sacred Heart had a quick lead to open the game thanks to a three-pointer from Solomon to give the Pioneers a 7-4 advantage. Rutgers answered with a 15-0 run to take a 19-7 lead with 13:01 left in the first half.

Galette and Espinal-Guzman made back-to-back layups to cut the Pioneers' deficit to nine, 21-12 with 8:52 left in the half. The Scarlet Knights went on to take a 46-25 lead at halftime.

Rutgers outscored Sacred Heart, 42-25 in the second half to take the 88-50 final.
