Last Time Out... The Pioneers are coming off a two-game home sweep of Bentley that came on Feb. 10-11. SHU took the first game 5-3 as graduate student
Troy Conzo scored the game-winner in the third period to put the Pioneers ahead 4-3. In the second game, senior
Austin Magera would put the Pioneers up 2-0 on the power-play to secure the 3-1 victory over the Falcons.

Last Meeting... The last time the Pioneers faced the Golden Griffins came on January 18, 2020. Canisius edged the Pioneers by a final score of 5-2. Austin McIlmurray and Jason Cotton tallied the lone goals for the Pioneers.

Scouting The Golden Griffins... Canisius enters this week's series with a 14-12-3 overall record and a 11-9-2 Atlantic Hockey record. They are coming off a split series against Niagara as they fell in the first game 4-1 but prevailed the following day 5-1. They are led on offense by Austin Alger who leads the team in goals with 11. In net, Canisius is led by Jacob Barczewski who tallies a GAA of 2.54, save percentage of .921 and a record of 12-10-1.
One of those February Runs....Since 2018-19 the Pioneers have had a successful run in the month of February tallying a record of 18-8-5. During that 2018-19 season, the Pioneers had a dominate month going 7-1-1. So far, the Pioneers tally a 3-2 overall record in February this season but look to add two more wins at Canisius starting Friday.

Shea Stealing the Show.... Junior forward
Neil Shea has been having a career season for the Pioneers registering eight goals, and 16 assists for a team leading 24 points. He sits tied for fourth in Atlantic Hockey in points while tallying five multi-point games which include a two assist showing in the Pioneers 3-1 victory over Bentley on Saturday.

Tuck on Point.... Junior
Braeden Tuck has been having a career year in goals as he registered his 10
th goal of the season in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Bentley. The Calgary, Alberta native sits tied for fifth in Atlantic Hockey in goals and is the lone Pioneer in double-digits in that category. Â

Don't Sleep on Magera....Senior
Austin Magera has been a strong offensive presence for the Pioneers registering eight goals with 14 assists for 22 points. He's tallied a total of seven multi-point games which leads the Pioneers. In the teams' last series against Bentley he tallied one goal and one assist.

Holy Penalty Kill...The Pioneers are one of the top teams in Atlantic Hockey in penalty-killing percentage registering a percentage of 83.10%. They sit in second behind Army West Point whose penalty kill sits at 86.40%.
