FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team came up short in its Northeast Conference opener against Bryant, 15-5, on Wednesday.

Bryant tallied four straight goals in the first five minutes of the first quarter.
Mikala Eacrett flicked the ball into the net off the assist from
Grace Reinold to get Sacred Heart on the board at the 4:17 mark. Each team would get one more before the end of the first quarter.
The Bulldogs held the Pioneers to just one goal in the second quarter, scored by
Emma Kittredge. Bryant outscored SHU, 5-1, and grew a nine-goal cushion at the halftime break.
Eacrett registerd the only two goals in the second half compared to the Bulldogs' four. Bryant out-shot the Pioneers 16-7 in the final 30 minutes and 38-15 overall. SHU also had double the turnovers (18-9).
Claire McElhenny picked up a season-high five ground balls.
Eacrett finished the contest with a season-high three goals. Colesworthy and Kittredge notched one apiece.
