Ryan Donnelly singled to centerfield to bring Joe Emerson home to knot the game at one a piece in the fourth inning.
Off a sacrifice fly, the Blue Devils initiated the scoring and the visitors regained the lead with a two-run home run out of right field in the fifth. CCSU remained hot with a run in the eighth inning and scored four runs in the final frame.
The Pioneers were out hit by Central 17-5. The home team stranded five, while the Blue Devils left a dozen on the bags.Â
Josh Cohen made his debut on the mound for SHU in the top of the eighth.
