SMITHFIELD, RI. — Sam Mongelli singled through the left side to bring home Tim McGuire in the ninth inning to wipe the shutout off the board in the Sacred Heart University baseball team's 11-2 loss at Bryant. The Red & White dropped to 4-32 overall and 3-10 in the Northeast Conference, while the Bulldogs improved to 16-19 and 6-7 on Wednesday.
Following Mongelli, Ryan Donnelly found a gap in right field for a single and allowed Justin Jordan to score.
The home team tallied 11 runs across eight innings including a six-run sixth.
Trevor Fagan snapped Bryant's starting pitcher no-hitter with a single to third base in the top of the sixth.
Bryant outhit SHU 12-6.
Sacred Heart continues its three-game series at Bryant on Saturday at 1 p.m.
