NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University field hockey team opened the 2022 season with a 5-0 loss to Syracuse on Friday.
Charlotte de Vries started the scoring for the Orange 33:14 into the game, and Syracuse took momentum from there. Sacred Heart posted three shots, two coming from Mira Poelzer and one from Julia Flood.
Samantha Maresca had nine saves for the Pioneers, while Brook Borzymowski of Syracuse posted one. Sacred Heart returns to the action on Sunday, August 28, when they take on the University of Vermont. Game time is set for noon.
