FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team fell to LIU Sunday evening, 2-1, dropping their record to 4-6-1 (1-1-1 NEC). The Pioneer's goal this evening came off an LIU own goal.

LIU opened the scoring in the 31
st minute from a shot high and left for the goal by Emil Jaaskelainen. The Shark's second goal came in the 51
st minute from another shot by Jaaskelainen sneaking by keeper,
Andrew Hammersley, low and left.
Gianluca Lanzilli's shot in the 80
thminute led to a SHU goal, as an LIU defender tried to head the ball to the keeper, but the ball ended up in the back of the net for an own goal.
Sacred Heart tallied eight shots, two shots on goal, and earned one corner opportunities compared to LIU's 17 shots, seven shots on goal and four corners.
