FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team fell to Saint Francis, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Park Ave Field in a Northeast Conference match up. Prior to the game, the Pioneera honored their graduating seniors and graduate students in a senior day ceremony.

The Pioneers held the Red Flash scoreless until the 59
th minute when Maximus Rigby maneuvered through the SHU defenders and shot high over the head of keeper,
Andrew Hammersley, in the top right corner of the net.
The Pioneers saw an opportunity shortly after when
Olliver Persson shot high and clipped the crossbar.
In the 70
th minute, first-year,
Alex Almuzara was able to get a foot on the ball for a shot low and center right but Saint Francis keeper, Jordaine Jaeger came up with the save to keep SHU off the board.
Saint Francis's second goal came in the 74
th minute when Rigby placed the ball in the same top right corner from the pass of Joshci Schelb.
The Red Flash out shot SHU 11 to 10 and four to two on goal. Saint Francis and SHU were evenly contested with three corner opportunities.
