Box Score BRONX, N.Y – The Sacred Heart women's tennis team traveled to Fordham University to compete on Sunday at the Fordham Duals. The three-day event was rained out Friday and Saturday leaving competition to only Sunday. The Pioneers faced Hofstra in singles and doubles competition, winning 10 of 15 matches.
 
In doubles play, Vitalina Golod and Flavia Rambaldi defeated Abigial Higgins and Kaitlyn Ferguson, 6-2, at #2 doubles. Aina Garriga and Ciara O'Toole also picked up a #3 doubles win against Dianela Rodriguez and Ciyin Zhang, 6-3.
 
In singles play, Katsiaryna Starastenska came back from a 5-7 setback and secured the victory 6-2 in the second and 10-3 in the third against Lea Forste-Dinell at #1 singles. Aina Garriga defeated #3 singles opponent, Deniz Soyer, in three sets, scoring 7-5, 5-7, and 10-5. Flavia Rambaldi picked up her second win of the day against Sabira Mohamed at #4 singles scoring 6-3, 4-6, and 10-5. At #5 singles, Ciara O'Toole also defeated Kaitlyn Ferguson in an easy two setter, winning 6-3 and 6-1. Olivia Kharkover, Renee Sharma, Malena del Olmo and Selasie Senanu also picked up singles wins.
 
The Pioneers wrapped up fall competition this weekend and begin to prepare for the spring conference season.
