Tristine and Vene take top team spots
BRONX, N.Y. — The Sacred Heart University men's cross country team competed well, finishing 35th at the NCAA Northeast Regional Cross Country Championships on Friday morning.
Edward Tristine was the lone Pioneer to place inside the top-200, finishing the 10-kilometer course just inside 33 minutes. Michael Mason put a cap on a successful first year campaign sneaking between sophomores Matthew Vene and Giovanni Prestipino to round out the top four finishers for the Pios.
Patrick Curreri and Nick Barbaro had good races as well, finishing the course in under 35 minutes while David Parenteau earned the last scoring honors for the Pios with a time of 35:18.3.
