Kaiser nabs top team spot
BRONX, N.Y. — Angela Kaiser's fourth-straight first place team finish highlighted an eventful morning as the Sacred Heart University women's cross country team placed 31st at the NCAA Northeast Regional Cross Country Championships on Friday morning.
Three Pios placed inside the top-200 harriers with Kaiser leading the pack, finishing the six-kilometer course in 22:10.2. Kelly Parker and Grace Sousa rounded out the trio with finishes of 23:07 and 23:09, respectively. First year Grace DelGiorno narrowly missed the top-200 mark, finishing two places behind Sousa by one second.
Samantha Apostolico, Jessica Pigott and Kathleen Cronin were the final harriers to score for the Pioneers, finishing within five places of each other as the Pios improved upon last season's regional finish.
