Kaiser, DelGiorno and Apostolico named to All-Conference Teams

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — On the heels of its best conference finish since 2021, the Sacred Heart University women's cross country harriers Angela Kaiser, Grace DelGiorno and Samantha Apostolico earned Northeast Conference (NEC) postseason awards, the conference announced Tuesday.
Kaiser earned All-Conference honors after an exceptional senior season that included four top-25 finishes, highlighted by her win at the Vermont Fall Foliage Invitational on October 15. The North Attleboro, Mass., native was the top team finisher for the Pios in each of her four regular season races and nabbed a season-best five kilometer time of 18:13.3 at the Fall Foliage Invitational. Kaiser was also a top-10 finisher at the NEC Cross Country Championships, grabbing eighth place to earn All-Conference honors after the race.
A two-time NEC Rookie of the Week, DelGiorno earns her first postseason conference award after being named to the All-Rookie team following a top-25 finish at the NEC XC Championships in late October. DelGiorno earned three top-25 finishes this season after appearing in all seven races, highlighted by a 19th place finish at the Fall Foliage Invitational with a season-best time of 19:08. The native of Morris Plains, N.J., earned a season-high second-place team finish at the 55th Annual Codfish Bowl XC Meet and took home a top-25 finish at the NEC XC Championships.
A native of Chester, N.Y., Apostolico earned All-Rookie honors after a first-year campaign that saw her make remarkable improvement throughout the fall. Apostolico earned a season-high 25th place finish at the Fall Foliage Invitational, finishing the five kilometer course in a career-best 19:25 while also placing in the top-35 three times throughout the fall.
