FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A slow start doomed the Sacre Heart University men's wrestling team in its EIWA tilt against LIU on Saturday. The Sharks defeated the Pioneers, 32-9.
 
SHU dropped to 0-12 during dual meets. LIU improved to 3-10
 
Getting the Pioneers on the board was junior Andrew Fallon. He produced a 10-7 decision at 133 pounds. Cutting the LIU lead to 13-6 was grad student Nick Palumbo. He won his third match in a row by beating Rhise Royster, 13-6.
 
Giving SHU a chance to take the team victory was junior Ryan Bolletino at 174 pounds. He won 9-3 to cut the LIU lead to 19-9, but the Pioneers would drop the final three matches.
 
Sacred Heart wraps up the regular season on Sunday versus Brown at 3 p.m.
