EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – First year
Kathleen Cronin won the mile to highlight the Sacred Heart University women's track and field team's day at the 23rd-Annual East Stroudsburg DeSchriver Invitational.
Cronin clocked a season-best time of 5:34.10 to come out on top in the crowded mile final. She also earned an eight-place finish as a part of SHU's 4x400 relay team, along with
Taylor Mason,
Kyla Coughlin, and
Alexa Weinbaum.
Sophomore Arianna Bartholomew also had a stellar day, placing fourth in the triple jump (10.54m) and seventh in the long jump (4.85m).
Weinbaum rounded out the Pios' top-10 finishers by placing eighth in the 600 meters in 2:30.18.
In addition to doing well on the relay, Mason earned an 11th-place outing in the 800 meters, and Coughlin took 15th in the mile with a season-best time of 6:20.90.
Today's match will serve as the Sacred Heart women's final tune-up before the Northeast Conference Indoor Championships on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 19-20, at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center in Staten Island, N.Y.
