After not scoring since 11:42 in the second quarter,
Grace Reinold put away her lone goal of the game at 12:32 in the fourth to bring the Pioneers within two, 5-3. The Seahawks answered with what would stand as its last goal of the day at 11:04 to take a 6-3 lead. From there, it was all HEART.
Lydia Werlau notched her first of the game at 9:44 and added an assist on the
Shae Insinga goal to pull the Pioneers within one at 7:48.
Emma Kittredge took advantage of a woman-up opportunity and tied the game 6-6 with 3:03 left in the game.
With 1:20 to go, Wagner called a timeout as the Seahawks held offensive possession and looked to notch the game-winner. However, Pioneers sophomore defender
Maci Black caused a turnover to get Sacred Heart the ball back for the final minute of play.
Chipping time off the clock to ensure SHU had the final shot, Reinold found Araneo to put away her 13th goal of the season and the game-winning score as the Pioneers reclaimed the lead, 7-6, with 15 seconds left. The Pios won the ensuing draw control to ensure their fourth birth to the NCAA Tournament.
