Tristine, Vene and Mason all posted season-best times and finished in the top 40
BOSTON — For the first time of its fall season, the Sacred Heart University men's cross country team placed in the top three, as the Pioneers took third at the 55th-Annual Codfish Bowl Cross Country Meet in the rain in Boston.
Graduate student Edward Tristine led the way for SHU in 32nd place after posting a season-best eight-kilometer time of 26:53. Matthew Vene crossed the finish line next for the Pioneers in a personal-record time of 27:02 to claim 38th. Michael Mason was Sacred Heart's final racer to finish in the top 40, clocking a season-best time of 27:06 to take 40th.
