FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team returns home on Sunday, January 21, at 2:00 pm to host Wagner in Northeast Conference action. The Pioneers have won its last two games and are currently 3-1 in conference play.

- Sacred Heart won its second consecutive NEC game on the road on Monday at Le Moyne, taking down the Dolphins, 80-73.

- Sacred Heart and Wagner meet for the first time this season and for the 48th time in series history. The Pioneers are 17-30 against Wagner, dating back to 1974. The two teams meet for the first time since last year's NEC Quarterfinal, where SHU advanced with a 67-55 home victory.
- Sacred Heart is 3-1 in Northeast Conference play with wins over Saint Francis and LIU at home and Le Moyne on the road. The lone loss came on the road at Merrimack.
- Three active Pioneers are averaging in double figures: Nico Galette (14.1), Alex Sobel (11.6), and Joey Reilly (11.2). Sobel leads the team in rebounds (7.4), and Galette is second with 6.1 rpg.
- Sobel is fourth in the nation in blocks with 51 (as of 1/18) and is fifth in blocks per game with 2.88.
- Reilly was named this week's NEC Player of the Week. Galette and Tanner Thomas have brought in NEC Player of the Week awards for the Pioneers this season. Sobel has been a Prime Performer three times.
- Galette, Joey Reilly, and Kyle McGee were voted captains for 2023-24.
- SHU was selected first in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. Galette and Reilly were selected to the All-NEC preseason team. Galette and Reilly earned All-NEC first and third-team honors last season, respectively.
