#7 Women's Wrestling Picks Up Two Wins on Senior Day

The Pioneers defeat Columbia and NEC in home finale

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's wrestling team wrapped up its home meet schedule on Sunday afternoon with a pair of victories against Columbia University and New England College inside the William H. Pitt Center. The Pioneers claimed the opening set against the Lions by a score of 34-13 before dominating in the night cap, 48-1, against the Pilgrims.

Prior to the match, the SHU women's wrestling team honored its lone senior – Cara Broadus – for her hard work and dedication to the program over her tenure with the squad.

Notables:

The Pioneers closed out their home portion of the schedule with an undefeated record of 7-0.
Following the two wins, SHU improved its dual meet record to 16-3, while also extending its dual meet winning streak to seven.
SHU had seven individuals – Aaliyah Payne-Parris, Ahsia Torres, Nohea Moniz, Alexandra Fitzgerald, Bayley Trang, Cara Broadus, and Jacklyn Smith – record two wins.
Aliza Leander, Temi Sanusi, and Tayla Tildsley also picked up a victory against the Lions or Pilgrims.
