DelGiorno tops list of Pio finishers with top-25 outing
HOPKINTON, N.H. — Grace DelGiorno's top 25 overall finish highlighted a successful day for the Sacred Heart University women's cross country team as it grabbed a sixth-place finish at the 112 annual New England Cross Country Championships on Friday.
DelGiorno, who took home last week's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Female Runner of the Week following a fourth-place finish at the Brown University Bear Invitational, grabbed her third, top team finish of the season with a 21st place finish on Friday. Following DelGiorno was the fellow duo of Grace's, with Grace Sousa taking a 27th overall finish while Grace Miller took 42nd place.
Finishing as the final scoring harriers was Adriana Franzese and Kelly Parker who finished withing two seconds of each other, placing inside the top 65 in the five-kilometer course. Finishing in the last two possible scoring placements were Anna King and first year Allison Roes as the Pios took home a remarkable, sixth-place finish at the most competitive race to date.
