DelGiorno Grabs MAAC Female Runner of the Week

New Jersey native grabs third conference nod of career
EDISON, N.J. — Following a second-consecutive top team finish, sophomore harrier Grace DelGiorno has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Female Runner of the week, the conference announced Wednesday.
A native of Morris Plains, N.J., DelGiorno earned her highest placement of the season at the Brown University Bear Invitational, finishing the six kilometer course in 22:53 en route to a fourth place finish. The Pios grabbed their top team finish of the season during the meet as well, placing 2nd out of 18 teams.
A former two-time Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Week, DelGiorno has placed higher than 22ndoverall in each of SHU's three meets this year and has a current season-high of 22:23 in the 6k which she earned during the Manhattan Jasper Fall XC Invitational.
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday, October 12 at the 112th Annual New England Cross Country Championships. More information can be found at sacredheartpioneers.com.
