Equestrian Concludes Fall Schedule With Strong Outing at LIU

Pios conclude fall IHSA slate with five event wins

BROOKEVILLE, N.Y. — Morgan McCrave's regional qualifying ride in the Introductory Flat highlighted a contested outing for the Sacred Heart University Equestrian team as it wrapped up fall competition at the LIU Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) show on Sunday, November 10.

McCrave, who earned the regional qualifier in Section C of the Introductory Flat, took home one of two SHU first-place showings in Flats. Mackenzie Hamilton grabbed SHU's second win with a first-place ride in Section C of the Open Flat. SHU continued to have strong showings in Flats with Ella DiFazio and Frankie Falise taking second place in Sections A and C of the Intermediate Flat, respectively. In section A of the Limit Flat, Beverly Banerji grabbed second while in Section A of the Open Flat, Cynthia Estey also grabbed a second-place ride.

SHU claimed another two wins on the day in Fences with Erin Phillips taking first in Section C of Intermediate Fences while Isabella Schupler grabbed the win in Section B of Limit Fences. Harley Jimenez, as well as DiFazio, also grabbed third place rides in Fences, taking home strong rides in Section D of Limit Fences and Section B of Open Fences, respectively. SHU's last fist-place ride came from Kaylee Shindel who grabbed a top showing in Section B of Novice as the Pios wrapped up the fall slate of shows with a third place outing against strong opposition.
