Mason takes top team finish for Pios

HOPKINTON, N.H. — Michael Mason grabbed his fourth top-team finish of the season as the Sacred Heart University men's cross country team wrapped up its 2024 campaign at the NCAA DI Northeast Regional XC Championships on Friday.

Mason, who finished inside the top 200 harriers on the course, took a time of 33:16.28 on the 10-kilometer course. Behind Mason, Matthew Vene took 209^th with a time of 33:37 to place second on the Pios. SHU continued to have strong showings on the afternoon with Owen Delisle and Anthony Esposito finishing four placements from each other, taking 225^th and 229^th overall.

On the back half of SHU finishers, Demetri Franzese ended his first year campaign with a strong outing and a time of 34:43, which was good for 236^th on the course. Jordan Leon and Colin Trolio rounded out the remaining scoring harriers for SHU, taking 242^nd and 248^th, respectively.
