Andrew Fallon and Aidan Zarrella post victories for SHU

LAS VEGAS, N.V. - Going up against some of the top programs in the country, the Sacred Heart University men's wrestling team competed at the 2024 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Friday.

Two Pioneers, Andrew Fallon and Aidan Zarrella, posted victories for SHU .

Notables:

At 133 pounds, Fallon lost his first match of the day by decision to No. 4 Ohio State's Nic Bouzakis, dropping him to the consolation round where he won by major decision, 15-2, against TJ England from Ohio. However, Fallon's run ended with a decision setback to No. 12 Derrick Cardinal from South Dakota State, finishing 1-2 on the day.
Fallon is now 5-4 on the season.
At 174 pounds, Zarella won his first match of the day by tech fall, 15-0, to Cal State Bakersfield's Chris Neal, advancing to the 16th round. Zarella then lost the next two matches, one by major decision to #4 Lorenzo Norman of Stanford and one by decision to Carter Schmidt of California Baptist University.
The North Kingstown, R.I. native recorded his fifth win of the season and is now 5-2 overall.
