FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team will play its second of three consecutive road games on Saturday, February 10, at LIU at 8:00 pm. The Pioneers are coming off a road loss to Central Connecticut State University on Thursday evening, 77-70.

- Joey Reilly scored 17 points, leading four players in double figures. He shot 6-for-9 from the field and 2-for-4 from three-point range.
- Nico Galette scored 16 points for his 18th game this season in double figures. He tallied a career-high six steals.
- Alex Sobel (16 pts) and Kyle McGee (11 pts) also scored in double figures for the Pioneers.
OPENING TIP:
- Sacred Heart and LIU wrap up the season series on Saturday. The Pioneers won the first game of the series, 89-55, on January 13. Saturday will be the 50th meeting between the two teams.
- SHU will play its second consecutive road game after falling to CCSU on Thursday evening, 77-70.
- Sacred Heart is 6-4 in Northeast Conference play and sits in third place in the standings. The Pioneers have swept Le Moyne and split the season series with Saint Francis. SHU has wins over Wagner, Stonehill, and LIU. The four losses have all come on the road at Merrimack, FDU, Saint Francis, and CCSU. The Pios are undefeated at home in NEC play.
- Three active Pioneers are averaging in double figures: Nico Galette (14.2), Joey Reilly (12.0), and Alex Sobel (11.6). Sobel leads the team in rebounds (7.3), and Galette is second with 6.7 rpg.
- Sobel is tied for fourth in the nation in blocks with 66 (as of 2/9) and is fifth in blocks per game with 2.8.
- SHU has four active 1,000-point scorers which is tied for the third most in the NCAA.
- Reilly, Galette, and Tanner Thomas have brought in NEC Player of the Week awards for the Pioneers this season. Sobel has been a Prime Performer three times.
- Galette, Reilly, and Kyle McGee were voted captains for 2023-24.
- SHU was selected first in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. Galette and Reilly were selected to the All-NEC preseason team.
