How it Happened:
Fairfield controlled the opening period, scoring three straight goals to take the early 3-0 lead. A man-up goal from Araneo broke the Pioneers' drought and trimmed the deficit to within two, 3-1.

SHU saw the Stags' lead grow to four, 5-1, following back-to-back goals from Grace Slater and Maggie Fort with 7:35 remaining in the second period. At the 4:00 minute mark, Barr found the back of the net for her first of the year following a nice pass from Kittredge.

Trailing by three, 5-2, SHU could not stop a potent Fairfield attack. The hosts outscored the Pioneers 7-1 in the third to take a commanding 12-3 lead heading into the final 15 minutes of regulation. SHUs' lone goal of the period came on a man-up opportunity from Insinga.

Despite a goalie change for the Stags, the Pioneers were only able to find the back of the net twice in the fourth period, compared to the hosts, who scored an additional three goals, bringing the final score to 15-5.
