FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Behind 10 different scorers, including a team-high four goals from senior
Kelly Nolan, the Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team earned its third straight Northeast Conference (NEC) victory on Saturday afternoon after defeating Delaware State University at home by a score of 18-6.
Nolan finished the conference showdown with a five-point performance, which was a season-high for the Cross River, N.Y. native.
Emma Kittredge and
Shae Insinga also recorded a five-point performance for the Pioneers behind three goals and two assists each.
Along with a goal,
Sadie Stevens assisted three of the Pioneers' 18 goals, while
Ellie Holt won a career-high 16 draw controls.
Lisa Martin collected her fifth win of the season between the pipes and finished the afternoon with five saves.
Juliana Henry also made an appearance in goal for the red and white and collected a save.

The Pioneers controlled the First Quarter, as the hosts outshot the Hornets by a 13-1 margin and held a six-goal advantage, 7-1, heading into the second. Seven different players found the back of the net in the first period, while
Shae Insinga and Nolan recorded a pair of man-up goals to start off regulation.
The second period saw Delaware State score back-to-back goals less than a minute apart, but the Pioneers remained on top, 10-3, at halftime. Insinga and Nolan again highlighted the period with a pair of man-up goals at 6:57 and 2:58, respectively.
Delaware State kicked off the third with an unassisted tally from London Downing until a goal from Kittredge ignited a three-goal spurt that put the Pioneers up nine, 13-4, with 8:54 remaining. The Hornets countered the run with two goals from Zahra Gotz to trim the deficit to seven, 13-6.
A Ryan Kearns goal at the one-minute mark in the third set up the Pioneers for the fourth. The hosts closed out regulation with a 5-0 run, securing the home victory.
