FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team defeated Columbia on the road Saturday night 1-0. Javier Lopez Cayuela secured the goal for the Pioneers off the bench.

Of Note:
The ball stayed in the midfield for the majority of the first half as both teams played well defensively.
 
The game's lone goal came in the 75^th minute when the Pioneers' Javier Lopez Cayuela sent the ball to the bottom-left corner of the net. The double assist came from Alex Almuzara when he sent in a long ball to the top of the box, finding Sam McCann who footed it to Lopez Cayuela.
 
SHU outshot the Lions 8-to-6 and 4-to-0 on goal. Columbia dominated in corner opportunities, 5-to-2, but was unable to capitalize.
