
Sousa Earns MAAC Runner of the Week

Grace finished first in the Brown Ber Invitational
Attleboro, Mass. – Graduate student Grace Sousa claimed first place at the Brown Bear Invitational on Saturday, September 27, leading Sacred Heart to a first-place finish and earning recognition as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Runner of the Week.
Sousa's first-place finish was her best of the season thus far, after finishing 6th in the Manhattan Invitational.
At the Brown Bear Invitational, Sousa finished the six-kilometer race in 22:09, which vaulted Sacred Heart to its best team performance of the season, coming in first place out of nine teams.
The Pioneers are back in action on Friday, October 10, as they travel to Hopkinton, N.H., to compete in the 113th annual New England Cross Country Championships.
