Key Returners Highlight Pios First Ever Top 5 Ranking
EDISON, NJ- The Sacred Heart Women's Swimming and Diving team earned fourth place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) pre-season poll.
Last season, the Pioneers smashed expectations. The team broke multiple school records including the first day of MAAC Championships when they broke the 200 medley record with a time of 1:43.26.
Returning athletes Sophia Velleco, Kristen Baker and Emma Haas were a part of that record-breaking time. When asked about them, Head Coach John Spadafina says " They are a part of a strong returning group and I am excited to see how they perform in the MAAC. "
Sacred Heart will compete in the Fairfield Invite for Diving on Friday and will host Stony Brook in swimming on 12:30 pm Saturday in Milford.
