Jake Harold runs the fastest 8k by a first year in Sacred Heart history
Fairfield, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University men's cross country team put together a collective effort at the 2025 anual New England Cross Country Championships in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, finishing 12th overall out of 24 teams.
Leading the way for the Pioneers was first-year standout Jake Harold, who clocked an impressive 25:38.8 to place 56th overall. Harold's performance made history, as his time marked the fastest 8k ever run by a first year in program history. Not far behind, right behind was Matthew Vene, who crossed the line in 57th with a time of 25:40.6. Michael Mason finished 66th in 25:45.1, rounding out a solid top-three finishes for the Pioneers
Aidan Cichocki, Alexander Armendariz, Harjaap Singh, and Demetri Franzese all rounded out the scoring for the Pios.
