
Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at 113th Annual New England Cross Country Championships

Grace Sousa and Alivia Schweibinz make school history
Hopkinton, N.H.—The Sacred Heart University women's cross-country team turned in a fantastic performance on Friday afternoon, placing fourth out of 25 teams behind two program records at the
113 Annual New England Cross Country Championships.
Graduate student Grace Sousa finished in fourth place, earning herself an All-New England honor. Sousa's 5k was the fastest in program history.
Not far behind was the first year standout, Alivia Schweibinz. Schweibinz's 11th overall finish earned her an All-New England honor, which was the fastest 5k ever run by a first year in Sacred Heart's history.
Grace Del Giorno and Adriana Franzese both contributed strong efforts, finishing inside the top 40 and adding valuable points to Sacred Heart's team total.
- Sousa earned her fourth top 10 finish of the season
- This was Schweibinz's best finish of her young career
- This year's fourth-place finish topped last season's sixth-place finish at the same event
