How it Happened:
  • The Pioneers came out energized in front of their home crowd after Senior Day celebrations, applying early pressure and firing four first-half shots, including a near miss from Lyndsey Laperle that skimmed just over the crossbar. Sacred Heart's defense stood strong, holding Quinnipiac to just two shots in a scoreless first half.
  • Sacred Heart broke through in the 59th minute when captain Morgan Bovardi buried a rebound following a free kick from Lindsy McShea, putting the Pioneers ahead 1-0. The goal electrified the crowd and swung momentum firmly in SHU's favor.
  • Quinnipiac, however, rallied with two late goals in the 74th and 87th minutes to steal the lead and hold off Sacred Heart's final push.
Of Note:
  • Bovardi recorded her 65th career point, becoming Sacred Heart's all-time leading scorer and surpassing former teammate Grace O'Hara.
  • Bovardi's goal was her 10th of the season, marking a new career high.
  • McShea registered her seventh assist of the year.
