
Crowley Claims Fifth at URI Heptathlon

Pearson was close behind in sixth
Kingston, R.I. – First-year athletes Ian Crowley and Langston Pearson led the way for the Pioneers, opening the 2025–26 season with strong performances at the University of Rhode Island Heptathlon. Crowley finished fifth overall, while Pearson followed closely behind in sixth, giving the Sacred Heart University men's track and field team a solid start to the year.
Crowley impressed in his first collegiate competition. His strongest events were the 60-meter hurdles and the 60-meter dash, placing second in both. He clocked a time of 8.48 seconds in the hurdles and finished the 60-meter dash in 7.17 seconds.
Pearson, who finished just behind Crowley, delivered his strongest performances in the shot put and high jump. He recorded a mark of 13.07 meters in the shot put, and in the high jump, he cleared 1.88 meters for another solid showing.

The Pioneers are back in action next weekend as they travel to Staten Island to compete in the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout on Friday, December 12.
