New Haven, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's track and field team delivered a strong showing at the Yale University Season Opener on Saturday, December 6, highlighted by a win in the 5000m and multiple top-five finishes across events.
On the track, first-year standout
Jake Harold claimed an event victory in the 5000m with an impressive time of 15:38. SHU added two more top-five results in the one-mile, with
Joshua Voorhees placing fourth and
Liam Keish finishing fifth.
In the sprints, junior
Colin Brown turned in a standout performance, taking second overall in the 60m with a time of 6.81 seconds. The Pioneers also showcased major depth in the 1000m, sweeping places two through seven to dominate the event.
On the field side, the Pioneers earned two top-five finishes, including a strong performance from
Benjamin Cicchitelli in the shot put and a fourth-place finish from
Benjamin Mandler in the pole vault. Overall, Sacred Heart showed particular strength in the running events, where the team's depth and top results stood out.
