FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University announced today the launch of Hearts United powered by Blueprint Sports, formerly Student Athlete NIL (SANIL). Hearts United is a community of passionate Pioneer fans dedicated to supporting SHU Athletics and student-athletes.
Hearts United, in partnership with Blueprint Sports, leverages the combined power of alumni, fans, and businesses to enable SHU student-athletes to thrive and excel, both during and beyond their time at the university. More importantly, Hearts United strives to inspire new fans and multi-levels of support for athletics and student-athletes.
"Through Hearts United, we can help you market your business while simultaneously assisting Sacred Heart University's efforts to elevate its athletics department," said Jessica Mannetti, SHU's head coach of women's basketball. "Together, we can create a championship program and create the very best varsity athletic experience for our players."
Hearts United provides businesses, fans and members with unprecedented access to engagement with their favorite teams and student-athletes, or the opportunity to support student-athletes across several sports. Through the auspices of Hearts United, student-athletes may engage in a variety of scenarios beneficial to the community, including personal appearances, meet-and-greets, charitable work, speaking engagements, or commercial sponsorship.
"As the NIL landscape continues to evolve, we at SHU must adapt, refocus and strengthen our partnership with the collective. We all have the same goals: to recruit, develop and retain the best and brightest," said Judy Ann Riccio, SHU's Executive Director of Athletics. "The role of Hearts United is to empower student-athletes by securing and facilitating NIL opportunities that allow them to monetize their personal brands."
Blueprint Sports and Hearts United also partner with the university to create the ultimate fan experience, to provide access to exclusive content, and to create various membership benefits, all while generating support for the teams and student-athletes whom we love. SHU joins a client roster that includes Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, and Wake Forest, among others.
"The programs that embrace change and invest in the student-athlete experience will thrive in the modern world of college athletics," said SHU men's basketball head coach Anthony Latina. "NIL opportunities can help our student-athletes maximize the value of their brand while allowing them to acquire and develop valuable entrepreneurial skills during their time at SHU."
