EDISON, N.J. – AAfter a historic week, Sacred Heart University women's basketball standout guard
Ny'Ceara Pryor was named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the last MAAC weekly award of the 2024-25 season.
Pryor, a two-time MAAC Player of the Week, averaged nearly a triple-double over two SHU wins to end the 2024-25 campaign. The Baltimore, Md., native averaged 24.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.0 steals per game. Pryor shot .594 (19-for-32) from the field and .500 (3-for-6) from 3-point range while dishing out 4.0 assists per game.
Pryor opened the week with her second career triple-double on 24 points, 10 rebounds and 11 steals against the Jaspers, leading the Pios to a 61-50 victory on Thursday. Her 11 steals are a new single-game program record and are tied for second-most by a Division I player in a game this season. Her triple-double is just the third in program history, as she has two and Katherine Haines has one.
Pryor the season with 24 points, eight rebounds and three steals in SHU's 69-57 win over Iona on Saturday. After Saturday, Pryor climbed to third on the SHU all-time scoring leaderboard with 1,790 points in her career and is second all-time with 357 steals.
