FAIRFIELD, Conn. – For the third time in her illustrious career, Sacred Heart University women's basketball standout
Ny'Ceara Pryor was named to an All-Met Team as she was tabbed Second Team by the Metropolitan Basketball Writer Association on Tuesday morning.
Today's honor is not the first for Pryor this season, as she was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Year and All-MAAC Second Team. For her career, Pryor is a two-time Player of the Year, two-time Defensive Player of the Year, three-time All-Conference selection and a three-time All-Met honoree.
Pryor finished the season averaging 19.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 4.1 steals per game. She led the country in steals per game and was fourth in total steals (120). The two-time MAAC Player of the Week ended the regular season, leading the MAAC in points and steals per game and was sixth in assists and seventh in rebounds per game.
In addition to her end-of-year stats, Pryor set new program records throughout the season. The junior guard became the first player in program history to tally two career triple-doubles as she posted 24 points, 10 rebounds and 11 steals against Manhattan on Mar. 6. The 11 steals are a new single-game program record. She ended the year third on the SHU all-time scoring leaderboard with 1,790 career points and is second all-time with 357 steals.
