To start, each team came out firing. A total of six shots were taken within the first 15 minutes, three from each team.

Shots continued on both sides, but in the 23rd minute, Fairfield found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. After that, solid defense and goalkeeping kept the score 1-0 for the remainder of the half.

Starting the second half, Casey Mulligan took over in net for Kyran Thievon. While this half began at a slower pace than the first, each team managed some solid pushes, but could not get off many shots.

Momentum shifted again in the 60th minute when Fairfield found the back of the net to take a 2-0 lead.

Just one minute later, Martyna Krzysztopik gave the Pioneers some life as she put a penalty kick in the back of the net to cut the deficit in half.

Following Krzysztopik's goal, it was all Fairfield, as they scored two more unanswered goals to make the final 4-1.
