ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University women's cross-country team turned in a fantastic performance on Saturday morning, placing first out of nine teams in the Brown Bear Invitational.
Graduate student
Grace Sousa set the pace for the Pioneers, crossing the finish line first overall. Junior,
Grace Del Giorno and senior
Adriana Franzese were close behind, finishing third and fourth overall, giving the Pioneers three top-five finishes.
Kathleen Cronin had a great day as well. Cronin finished eighth overall, granting Sacred Heart four top-10 finishes.
Anna King,
Gabriella DeVito, and
Carissa Weber all finished in the top 20, rounding out the scoring for the Pioneers.
Of Note:
- Sousa earned her third top-10 finish of the season
- Sousa also tallied her first win finish of the season
- The Pioneers' victory is the team's first since winning the Ted Owen Invitational in 2018
