How it Happened:
- In the opening period, the Pioneers looked to strike early, much like they did the night before. Sacred Heart outshot the Ravens 20–16 over the period but was unable to capitalize on its scoring chances. Larson played well in goal, stopping six shots and allowing just one goal in the final minute of the period. The score heading into period two was 2-1 in favor of the Ravens.
- Period two belonged to Larson, who stopped all 11 shots she faced. The Pioneers outshot Franklin Pierce 13-11 in the period, but despite their strong offensive effort, they were unable to score. Sacred Heart entered the third period trailing by one.
- In the third period, the Pioneers fought hard to get back into the game. Both teams played tight defense until Franklin Pierce struck first to double their lead. Shortly after, Ella Holm scored for Sacred Heart, giving the Pioneers new life and cutting the deficit to one with about two minutes remaining. However, Franklin Pierce added an empty-net goal to seal a 3-1 victory.
