VOTE FOR FELIX
Last week, it was announced that Felix Trudeau was named a Hobey Baker nominee for the second straight season. Trudeau is in a three-way tie for the national lead in goals with 20 and is the solo leader with 10 power-play goals. He is now seven goals shy of tying the program's single-season goal record after already setting new career highs in both goals and points.

The Hobey Baker Award changed its voting procedure to a text-based format this year. To vote for Felix, text 26002 to 844-623-9688.

AHA CHECK IN
After CT Ice, the Pioneers will be in AHA play for the remainder of the regular season. Entering the home stretch, it's a good time to take a look at where the Pioneers stand. SHU sits third with 30 points through 16 games. RIT is two points ahead of the Pios in second place but has played 18 conference games. Bentley continues to pace the league with 38 points over 16 games.

SHU will need to fend off both Holy Cross (29 points) in fourth and Canisius (28 points) in fifth down the stretch, with a home series against Holy Cross on the docket for Feb. 20–21.

LAST TIME OUT
The Pioneers split two games at the 2026 CT Ice Tournament, falling to No. 6/7 Quinnipiac in the semifinals before bouncing back with a 3–2 win over host Yale. SHU fell to the Bobcats by a 5–1 final score, with Reid Pabich's power-play strike standing as the Pioneers' lone goal.

Sacred Heart found itself down early against the Bulldogs, but a late power-play goal by Trudeau swung the momentum. Ray Fust gave the Pioneers a 2-1 lead midway through the third period, while Mikey Adamson netted the game-winner at 11:31. With a point in both games, Adamson represented SHU on the All-Tournament Team.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
Heading into Friday's opener, the Falcons sit at exactly .500 on the season with an 11-11-2 record, ranking seventh in the AHA at 7-8-1 (22 points). After a strong start to the year, Air Force has hit a rough patch of late, dropping three of its last four series against Bentley and Holy Cross. The Falcons will be looking to gain better footing at home, as the team is 4-7-1 at Cadet Ice Arena after losing three straight home games.

SHU will have to contend with a potent offense that ranks first in the conference with 3.13 goals per game. Leading that attack is the trio of Sam Stitz, Nick Sajevic, and Chris Hedden. Stitz and Sajevic are tied for the team lead with 25 points, while Sajevic leads the team in assists (20) and Hedden leads in goals (11). All three recorded points in Air Force's most recent game, a 5–2 win over Holy Cross.Sajevic enters the weekend first in the conference and 15th nationally with 0.83 assists per game. In goal, junior Dominik Wasik owns a 2.60 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.

ALL-TIME SERIES
In a series that dates back to the turn of the century, SHU and Air Force have met 65 times. The Falcons lead the all-time series 34-24-7 after taking both games in the first series of this season. Prior to that matchup, the Pioneers knocked the Falcons out of the 2025 AHA Tournament quarterfinals with a 2-1 series victory. Games played in Colorado have been tightly contested, with Air Force holding a slim 12-10-4 advantage.

UP NEXT
SHU returns to Martire Family Arena on Friday, Feb. 6, for the opener of an AHA series against Mercyhurst. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
