How It Happened
The start of this afternoon's game went back and forth early on, with the Bulldogs breaking through first 4:21 into the game.

Sacred Heart responded to the early deficit by pressing for the tying goal late in the first period. Their persistence paid off when a power play opportunity arose. Felix Trudeau capitalized, scoring with just 12 seconds remaining on an extra-man advantage to even the score at 1-1. Reid Pabich took the initial shot, Gavin Bryant tipped the rebound to Trudeau, who finished the play.

After a scoreless second period, the game went into the third knotted at 1-1.

Momentum shifted in the third period, as the Pioneers finally broke the deadlock 9:54 into the frame with Ray Fust's sixth goal of the season. He snuck the puck past the sliding goaltender on a transition play, with John Driscoll and Marcus Joughin assisting.

Building on their momentum, Sacred Heart struck again just 1:37 later to extend the lead to 3-1. Adamson delivered the team's third goal, sniping from above the right circle after a feed from Charles Tardif.

The Bulldogs made it 3-2 14:30 into the third, which made the final five minutes very interesting. Yale peppered Teagan Kendrick with shots to close out the game, which included a 2:30-minute stretch with an empty net. The first year was ready for the challenge, finishing with 30 saves to claim the win.
