How It Happened
For the second straight night, the Pioneers opened the scoring. With an early power play, the Pios made it 1-0 at 6:10 when Marcus Joughin sent a snipe to the top left corner with a beautiful wrister from the left circle.
Unlike yesterday, however, SHU added another to build the lead. At 15:21, Reid Pabich tipped a Felix Trudeau shot from the right dot over the leg of the sliding keeper.
The Pioneers were not done scoring in the first, as Michael Rubin netted his first of the night at 17:28 to make it 3-0. On the transition, Gavin Bryant started the play by outskating one defender before finding Rubin for the score on an empty net.
The second period finished scoreless, as RMU held a 17-6 lead in shots but could not score as the Pioneers went into the third up 3-0.
SHU's dominant play continued in the third, as SHU added two goals in the period. Pabich netted his second to ice the contest, while Rubin scored his second on an empty-netter to make it 5-0.

Postgame Quotes
A couple of us seniors went to breakfast this morning and we just talked about how desperate we were to earn another opportunity to put the jersey on one more time, said Marcus Joughin. I couldn't be more proud of our group, and we definitely earned the chance to put the jersey on one more time, to strap it up with this team.
In the year of the transfer world, jogs [Marcus] been here four years, and it's been great having him and he It's great seeing how he's grown as a person and how his game has evolved, said coach C.J. Marottollo. I thought he was one of the best players on the ice tonight playing without the puck, winning face offs. Got a huge first goal for us on the power play. He's been as dialed in as he I've ever seen him this past month.
Obviously our team takes from our leaders, and we have two right here, coach Marottollo continued. Just got to know Reid last year. He's got the greatest smile, the greatest energy. He's on an unbelievable tear. He's been playing terrific. And I can't say enough about these guys, how what they are as people, and what they're doing on the ice right now.
