Men’s Ice Hockey Sends 27 to AHA All-Academic Team

Six Pioneers were named Student-Athletes of the Year after finishing with 4.0 GPAs
BOSTON – The Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team put 27 players on the 2025-26 Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Men's League All-Academic Team, debuted by the league on Wednesday. In addition, six Pioneers were named AHA Student-Athletes of the Year after maintaining GPAs of 4.0 on a 4.0 scale for the academic year.
The AHA All-Academic Team honors student-athletes who posted a GPA of 3.0 or above for both semesters of the 2025-26 academic year.
The Pios' six AHA Student-Athletes of the Year are Joshua Barnes, Cole Galata, Vitaly Levyy, Chase Ramsay, Jeremi Tremblay and Noah Van Vliet. Sacred Heart doubled its number of 4.0 GPAs from last season, with Galata and Tremblay accomplishing the feat back-to-back years.
SHU tallied the second most All-Academic Team honorees today, finishing with 27. The Pios' six Student-Athletes of the Year also ranks second, trailing just Canisius.
Bentley and Robert Morris led the league with 28 All-Academic Team members, while Canisius (25) and RIT (24) were not far behind. Mercyhurst with 22, Niagara with 20, Holy Cross with 20, Army West Point with 19 and Air Force with 16 rounded out today's list. In total, 230 student-athletes were recognized by the conference for their academic excellence.
